Unusual freehouse/hotel in Hampshire village. Large ramshackle Georgian building, quirky decor, interesting decorative items. Cosy bars. Friendly. Local ale. Carefully prepared meals from scratch, interesting combinations of ingredients, special burgers, steaks to original healthy options, veggie meals, generous desserts (lots of chocolate). The owners have done a great job with this place. Nice breakfast, Charlie the Landlord is a very nice chap, who has obviously worked very hard, to keep this place in such good shape. All the Covid rules are being adhered to perfectly. He welcomed our little dog, even gave her a biscuit. It’s in a great position too for people like me from Basingstoke. It’s a few strides from Micheldever Railway Station. So if you want to visit a country pub and have a couple of beers, just jump on the train. No driving required.
